GTA5 came out with brand new content last month. And they have maintained releasing new modes this entire time. That's why its so popular.
My brother (rip) was not a gamer. He did game, and the games he put the most work in by FAR is GTA5 and COD. But GTA5 specifically and he'd play that with his group of friends. I have people all the time trying to get me to join. I was mad GTA4 didn't do what GTA5 online is doing so that's when I stopped playing. And I would agree with you if I didn't know better. I pay attention to everyone, and GTA5 is a constantly evolving game.

And they fell off after that. Yeah they had couple groundbreaking games in 2010s, but that's about it. Just greedy. Most of gaming companies are greedy. They found a way how to take money off gullible people through in-game transactions and that shyt ruined the gaming. 00s was arguably GOAT gaming era cause that micro transaction bullshyt wasn't there yet and gaming companies had to try hard to make cool interesting games.

I would argue that GTA5 is popular still not because its doing anything wrong like you're saying. They keep adding new content/modes/etc.
You'd hope every game would do that. But it don't work unless its good and worthy of your time and money. I know too many people who LOVE WHAT they add. Not on some cosmetic bullshyt, actually gameplay. They been doing this for a decade and still doing it. You complaining that they are supporting their game is literally the definition of insanity. You don't have to pay to play most of the content they deliver. You seem upset that they are making money off a successful game that people seem to like. Greed would be if they was ripping gamers off.
