CONCURRENTLY means that both sentences are run at the same time. CONSECUTIVELY means run back-to-back.
Normally when you have a state case AND a fed case, one takes priority over the other, and they're run consecutively. I.e., you'd do your 3 years in state, and the moment your release date comes up, you're shipped to the Feds, and complete your 3 years there, or vice versa. So this shyt is

I guess that's what money (or T.I. tactics) do for you. B/c it's more common for two or 3 separate STATE cases to be run concurrently, than it is for a STATE and a FED case to be.

Along with dude being a felon already, and catching a gun case, and an assault case, running the assault case concurrent is basically a slap on the wrist like, "Here. We got a guilty plea out of you and another conviction on your record. You already doing 3 years, so take 3 more...But it'll in all actuality only equal up to 3 years total."
Not wishing time on nobody, (so don't even come at me with that bullshyt) but these rappers, man...Son was nowhere near as paid as T.I., and ANY gun possession/use charge after being a felon is usually a MANDATORY 3, (and NOT run concurrently) in any state not including the time for any other charges. Hence, if you rob a liquor store, and shoot in the air, as a felon, normally you'd be charged with POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AS A CONVICTED FELON, POSSESSION OF A FIREARM IN COMMISSION OF A FELONY (<---both charges that require MANDATORY MINIMUM sentences, normally run consecutively), and THEN you'd have to face the time/sentencing additionally for whatever dumb shyt you did on top of that. So coming off with 3, after catching another case...Or in T.I.'s case, coming off with 2 (I don't give a fukk if these nikkas celebrities or not, I've read entire state lawbooks front to back in prison) something ain't right about these nikkas breh. Don't forget that.
Again, ain't nobody wishing time on nikkas, but for the nikkas that's really out here in the trenches, putting in most of the work most of these rap nikkas scream about and have these CaCs hyping up...The shyt ain't nothing to be glorified, so when you hear of shyt like this, it's just straight up

No jealousy, no nothing. If nikkas is really about that stand up life, assume the accountability, and eat that time. First we gotta believe the Federal Government gives a fukk about T.I., or his community service, or how much money he can pay off

THEN, that the fact he was already a convicted felon with multiple convictions, didn't have any bearing on wether or not he got a mandatory minimum sentence. Then this shyt, a rapper who has less money, more charges, same circumstances.
I hope this nikka mentally gets more mature, and uses the time for something productive, not more detrimental to himself...But shyt is straight

status. But yeah. That's the way the cookie crumble when you get used to a fancy lifestyle, get caught up, and start weighing options and your personal life/family values over the principles you supposedly stand for and rap about and got the youths recklessly trying to emulate.
