when kanye dropped those ridiculous yeezy's he showed how easy it was to create over priced garbage products like gucci.

it seems hip hop was on the right track creating their own brands but then just abandoned them instead of reinvesting to create better products
i mean if jay and dame sold rocawear to black person, it might have able to evolve with the times instead of becoming burlington coat factory bargain bin status
it shows how hip hop has regressed, i mean carl jones made cross colors, you had karl kani
even when hip hops wore italian designers it was made for hip hoppers, like Pelle Pelle, which started in Detroit because rappers came to Marc Buchannan requesting custom jackets

No reasons why blacks should've have the fashion game locked down by now, nggaz was doing it with barely no resources, and nobody built upon that ground work

For traditionally disadvantaged people, integration can come at a cost.

Again, it really makes you wonder.

In the 90s black brands tried to do it independently then in the mid-2000s its like everyone gave up. You had Kanye and Pharrell seeking mainstream brands and even Diddy and Hov abandoned Sean John and Rocafella respectively.
sean john clothing still exists. Diddy is not majority owner anymore but is still involved. It costs a lot of money to maintain a clothing line PERIOD let alone for 20 years like Sean John
so no it doesn't make you wonder.

I buy a couple sean john tshirts a year. some of them are decent looking.

you either gotta go the 'Gucci' way and step ya marketing up to over price your shyt to stay in business or you gotta figure out within 5 years how to get your shyt poppin at regular prices.

The people behind this shyt need to be identified and have their info put out there so we can see who they are. Then they should be made to feel unsafe everytime they step out into any public place where Black people are.
