Dude looks like a totally different person. Depending on your weight when you begin losing, dropping even 15 - 20 pounds can borderline completely alter your appearance, nevermind 25+. Cutting down your body fat to <10% and lifting even moderately will give you a huge boost as far as your physical appearance goes. Its clear he's much happier after getting in shape. It's also expected.
