Yeah they have done a poor job of promoting it. I hate how trash the show has been in recent years but with the 50th anniversary of hip hop I think stars that would generally skip it will show up.

yeah and then, is it just me or does it feel like the BET Awards, the Hip Hop Awards and then the Soul Train awards always run like neck n neck together

i know one of the awards is like in November or something, that maybe the Soul Train awards, i forget

but it always feels like at least two of them are strung together so closely

To be honest I haven't watched any of the others in years so I'm not sure. I really think that might be part of the issue is they have too many awards shows.

yeah, i watch them out of sheer curiosity sometimes, just see and keep up with new faces and names of artists; even though none of the performances really move me anymore

remember when at one point they had the BET comedy awards? they just ditched that shyt

I think they only did it one year if I recall correctly. I agree I haven't seen an awards show move me in some time now. I remember when I used to be excited for the BET and MTV awards shows even the Hip-Hop honors on VH1.
