A pack of gum has 12 or so pieces for ~1 dollar. A stick of gum keeps you feeling full for roughly 30 minutes (in my experience. If you average out the length of time those sticks will keep you full, your essentially filling in a meal for a dollar. Assuming you give zero fukks about your nourishment, a cheap man could save a lot of money eating a pack of gum a day as a meal.

Interesting, because gum has the OPPOSITE effect on me...
I typically eat one big meal a day...Maximum 2 meals...Most days...When I am in body building mode I need to eat more....I do this by chewing gum, because 5 to 10 minutes after chewing gum, I feel like my stomach is bottomless pit, and I start binge eating...Essentially, chewing gum gives me the munchies...
I always chew gum after a meal, because I feel like it gets me ready for another meal sooner than if I didn't...
If I was trying to save money on food, I would drink Coca Cola...I have gone 3 days, NO food, just working and drinking Coke...With no hunger pains...Also, Coke is my medicine for diarrhoea and any kind of stomach problem (except constipation)...
When my stomach is over active, I drink Coke, and 1 hr later, I am back to normal...The more Coke I drink, the less I want to eat...
