Gunna has an amazing ear for beats, but he's keeping it really safe on this one. I like the first half of the album a lot more. shyt kinda sounds like one long ass song.
I think A Gift & A Curse is his magnum opus, and was noticeably darker than all his previous music. I think everything that he's released since he got out has had a similar sound to that, but there hasn't been much variety.

Gunna’s like the Atlanta version of Larry June and Curren$y to me.
Consistent lifestyle raps over lush production. Perfect vibe music.
Sure a critique could be made on similarities in sound between projects, but if the formula ain’t broke
I get that, but when you’ve shown you can do more.....A Gift & A Curse, for example; it’d be nice to keep exploring new sounds, even if “vibes” are your lane. Breh too creative with melodies, abstract pockets, and ethereal beat choices to just drop something that feels like One of Wun disc two.
Even Gibbs switches it up between Madlib and Alchemist, and Curren$y will go from Alchemist to Harry Fraud to keep things fresh. That said, I do fukk with the back half of this (minus the Burna joint) more than the opening run; there’s def a place for some of it.
