Why would anyone expect one of the most boring wrestlers of all time to be a good booker?

All triple H matches were basically him mean mugging for 5 damn minutes on his Motorhead intro, then once the match starts there would be a lot of brawling, some basic moves that every wrestler knows well. If the match has importance he might cut his forehead, if he was playing a heel character that time he'd have someone interfering the match, then a dirty finish to the match...rinse and repeat.

Rather than spending time on studying the art of wrestling, he'd spend that time playing politics behind the scenes and burying talent that was usually better than his.

I will say this about this era with Triple H. His bad decision are universally agreed as being bad. At least with Cokeboy their would be one moron somewhere going “I like it”.

I'mma say this and it's gonna sound dumb but hear me out.

Grayson Waller shoulda retired Cena :yeshrug:
I'm not saying he deserves it. I'm saying it'd be the best move mileage-wise. Because that type of character will crow about retiring someone for YEARS. Goontah's character basically requires him to apply Eastern European stoicism to it and move on to the next challenge. 'Retiring' Cena needs to be something someone is obnoxious about every time you see them until at least 2027. It was a bad move to pick him.

Especially because he does. not. need. it.

Gunther's booking is weird at times. I remember the Jey/Zayn feuds he seemed almost unstoppable on TV, but lost in an almost uncharacteristic way at the PPV/PLEs.

Beforehand Jey was never known as a submission guy, so Gunther tapping to him at the time felt really random, and so quick that it didn't feel believable. I remember feeling Zayn's win was flat to me at the time too.

Anyway, Gunther has a new submission, and the build (beyond the last match) seems to be submission vs. submission, and that makes sense because Cena's STFU has been pretty protected (especially compared to the FU/AA). However, because it's been protected so much, logically all Cena would need to do is lock in the STFU one time and Gunther should tap immediately if we're being consistent about the whole Gunther tapping fast to head/neck submissions thing.

Another flaw to Gunther is him seeing his own blood and that triggering a flight response in him. I like how they did that when Punk won the belt (before the cash in).

I think it'll be a good match. I'm interested in seeing what they do, because the "never give up" (pass out in submission) ending is almost a guarantee at this point.

Really? Because a lot of people still defend his bullshyt booking, and their go to defense is to bring up the bad booking of 2019 WWE. Vince's main problem was the micromanaging, Triple K's problem is thinking mediocre wrestling is the best thing ever.
