:whoa: Don't get me wrong. Keith had some jams, but after he split with Teddy he was hit and miss with me. His uptempo jams went from this... :lawd: to this... :wtf:

But he still had some shyt...some of my favorite slow jams to this day...but man...with Teddy on board he was a beast.

left eye killed this track tho.

the funny thing is, those same broads prolly never really rocked with the album cuts either.

outside of the cuts that got airplay, their 1st album sounds dated and forgettable. DOAMB (imo is their best album) had some STRONG cuts on it (and not just the radio/video joints either). I still listen to it to this day. The Show, The Hotel, The Afterparty outside of Love U 4 Life, Freek'n' You & Get on Up is forgettable. I'd go on record in saying that JE has a stronger discography than Jodeci. Their hits are timeless but as a complete body of work, nah. Most of them joints are hit or miss

Shai ain't even in the convo... :russ:

I'm def. not gonna shyt on Jodeci's best shyt, but it's just not often that you find anyone pumping up anything of theirs that was A) uptempo or B) not a hit. When's the last time you had somebody say "nah but u know what was my shyt by them? Let's Go Thru the Motions and Gotta Love!" But Jodeci at their best was pumpin' out the best shyt during their time.

I was never that big on Boyz II Men, honestly. I don't deny their vocal performances or their hits... but almost anything by them that's not on the 1st album can kick rocks. And that includes the big hits like "I'll Make Love To You" and "Bended Knee".

Silk's 1st album singles were dope... the rest? Eh. Didn't even quite understand how they got so hot again in '99 with those joints that pretty much sounded run-of-the-mill for the time.

Wonder sometimes if Guy had stayed together, what Blackstreet songs woulda been theirs? Imagine Aaron Hall singin' "Don't Leave"... nikka woulda KILT that. Although I understand that when they were gonna reunite in the mid-90s, the Hall bros turned down "No Diggity", which led to them splittin up again. :snoop:

if they wouldve stayed together songs like baby be mine (i can hear aaron hall singin this), u blow my mind(this wouldve great if aaron hall sang it), i like the way you work, falling in love again, tonights the night, happy home, wanna make love (another one i can hear aaron on), and givin you all of my lovin from blackstreets 1st album are songs that probably been guys. both aaron and damien hall couldve been eatin good with a lot of these songs.

as for the 2nd blackstreet album (another level album), i could definitely see dont leave me, along with good lovin, money cant buy me love, i cant get you out of my mind, and the lord is real (aaron wouldve made this song into his own 1. bein that he doesnt sing in falsetto like el debarge and 2. given the fact its a cover or flip of debarges time will reveal). but aaron wouldve taken the lord is real song to another level because hes got that church voice in him.

.this song was slept on too

meh.

i never liked that song.

:whoa: Don't get me wrong. Keith had some jams, but after he split with Teddy he was hit and miss with me. His uptempo jams went from this.

he was great long after teddy.

and if its the uptempos youre talking about, i think the death of new jack swing is when keith sweat lost his mark. not so much the split with teddy.

correct me if im wrong but teddy riley wasnt working with him when he was droppin classics like "make you sweat".

yea, jagged edge's legacy is underrated.

sure they were on top at one point, but they dont get the recognition that they deserve when it comes to modern-day "all-time" talk. they should get mentioned more in threads like these.

The need to make and Unsung for the 90's r&b groups. They did one for Arrested Development which was coo but I want to see one for Shai and Silkk. If Cece Peniston can get 1 so can they.

HI-FIVE needs an episode pronto.

their story is crazy jim.

lol. i never understood how those silk singles blew up the way they did in '99 either.

haha. i always hated "no diggity" myself. and i bet aaron hall wouldve sounded :flabbynsick: trying to sing that tacky chit.
