Royce saying all these dudes claiming they're the best gotta come see him, sumn like that. I remember the thread on here the day it happened...I knew that shyt was gonna spiral into what it did, I just didnt think Royce was gonna go out how he did, smh.

I think he just wanted to spar and go record for record on some rappity rap shyt...like some "Let's see who can do more multis and flows" and that type of soft shyt, lol...he never intended to really battle and get dirty with anybody...that's how it seems. Definitely played it all wrong.

yeah I remember that thread and seeing all types of back and forth videos on my youtube page and hearing about Royce saying he'd punch Lupe in his face. Wasn't sure if it started on their podcast which I never watched or how it escalated to Lupe and Mickey body Royce lol Crazy to see so many people clowning Royce when right before this he was pretty respected. Shame.

I legit think Royce felt like he and Lupe were really cool. They weren't talking about anything resembling what it ended up becoming as far as competition. But Royce got a little too comfortable and Lupe was def being passive aggressive letting him slide on shyt that should have been nipped in the bud.

Instead of checking him he let the shyt build up and fester, then we go from wanting to put on a show to beefing on wax. I feel like the prospect of having to up the ante and 'take it there' as you say probably fukked with Royce's sobriety.

That doesn't negate the self induced L, but people going "Aww man where 'Malcom X' Royce at?" and I'm like, that version of Royce is an alcoholic. If Lupe was really on demon time he coulda have twisted his arm about that.
