Gym heads: What weight should an average natty be proud of benching

Have had a stiff neck for about 4 days now from lifting. Want to lift again but want to get rid of the neck pain first

there’s nothing special about 225 other than it being easy to count to with weights since the bar is the same weight as the largest weights in most gyms

225 is good if you yourself dont weigh close to, or more than that

To everyone saying two plates, don't they come in different weights or I'm I missing something here:gucci:. There's 5kg,10kg,20kg,50kg etc plates
so be more specific
Two plates is usually understood to be 225 lbs 4 plates and the bar

Nah it’s a good bench. It’s a nice clean number.

also, benching isn’t everything. If you in the gym focus on overall strength... legs, back, etc

Anything under 2 plates (225 lbs, 103 kg roughly) aint worth talking about IMO :yeshrug:

Good news is its easily attainable w/ consistent work

you dudes need to come up off these threads, post your biceps, post your arms, chest, lest see brolicness.

i forgot the weight im benching since i stopped going to the gym late last year but ever since i have maintained a small work out routine, which includes. 50 knuckle push ups minimum a day. it helps, i think i got some steady arms especially forearms like popeye forearms.

I think any full grown man who can rep 2 plates (225lbs) is something to be proud of. Its not like they hopped outta bed benching that much, they had to train to get to that point. I go to the gym everyday, and most people are not high repping 225. They just arent

For me personally, I rep 3 plates (315lbs) in sets of 12-14 and when i'm getting down to sets of 4-6 i'm at 375.
My goal is to 3-rep max 405 before the end of the year. I'll put that on video if i can do it.

benching is the one i never put too emphasis to push myself to see what was the heaviest i can do

my 1 rep max is 375, but i was able to do 300 lb bench presses in sets of 10-12 at one point

tendinitis in my arms/shoulders made me cut that shyt out :francis:

Depends on size and weight as stated. At age 22 I was 5’10 and benching 245. Got up to 275 by about 24. Now Im working with 315 and a little higher. Point it it’s progression over the years. If bench/chest is what you focus on then you should see great results with consistency and a somewhat heavy but nutritious diet (at least 2,000 calories a day). Also meat is not necessary to achieve these gains.
