The reason mesquite pd charged them is because mesquite used to be an all white town. In the past 20 years it changed to a suburb of around 140,000 people that’s only 28% cac now.
In recent years in a Hail Mary attempt the cacs that have remained are trying to do any and everything in their power to make it unwelcoming for blacks and Mexicans again. It hasn’t been working as the current mayor is now Mexican. It doesn’t help that a month before this happened a cac mesquite pd cop was shot to death by a brehito. Also Micah johnson(who killed the 5 Dallas cops) was from mesquite. But this gives some context why the police department over charged those 3 black men.

Over-charging often back fires on prosecutors. They may have got them on manslaughter. But I will agree they shouldn't have to go to jail, and the guard was doing a little too much. Unlike I previously thought, these brothers were clearly pass high school age. I don't know what the guard was thinking, going up against three grown men. No wonder that fight didn't last long.
