Rakim is better than Lupe Fiasco.
There is no time period in the near future, the far flung future or the past where Lupe fiasco
was or will be better than Rakim.

Kool G Rap is better than Lupe too.

Imagine changing Hip-Hop lyricism FOREVER and then getting compared to a dude
who is "the son of your son".

On your part.

He makes some songs that are extremely dense and abstract that a GZA, Nas, or Rakim can't do based on their careers thus far. And he makes the simple stuff that they do, also. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

He made "Mural Jr" and he made "Show Goes On". The guys you named only make "Show Goes On"

Follow The Leader and Lyrics of Fury, RIGHT NOW are better than Mural and Mural Jr.

Ft. Stewart, Ga
Whose BETTER is debatable.

Whose more lyrical? Thats Lupe.

Lupe’s entire existence is dedicated to being the best lyricist possible. What separates Lupe from someone like Cannibus is that Lupe can be lyrical while actually writing a catchy SONG. Lupe can write hooks, structure verses into incredible stories, remain charismatic enough that he’s not boring, and extend concepts across an entire album.

At the end of the day I believe Lupe can make a liquid swords but I don’t think GZA can make a song like Failure, Switch, He Say She Say, Hurt Me Soul, or an album like Tetsuo.

We talk about Liquid swords (classic) I also love legend of the liquid sword (underrated) but protools and beneath the surface aren’t really that good. :jbhmm:Lupe dropped lasers and drogas light but he also bounced back and with Tetsuo, DMIZ, and drogas wave. That’s not including loosies and pharoah height mixtape which all contains a high level of lyricism, storytelling, and imagination.

But I’m also a person who actually thinks Deck is the best lyricist in the Wu he just hasn’t made a classic album :hubie:

FAILURE?

didn't GZA write Labels, Publicity, Fame, and queen's gambit?
