Then they went and reskinned him as Nemesis (Both where Bio weapons called Tyrants if I'm not mistaken) and gave him a purpose (Killing S.T.A.R.S. members)Ive beaten RE2 multiple times & have no memory of random encounters wit Mr. X, I musta just assumed it was designed for him to be there....
Nemesis though... 1st time i heard the theme song come on, then the footsteps & "STARS"... run to next room

Nemesis had some great moments, man. Can't remember but didn't this fool pop up in a Safe room once?

And to alot or you cats who either never met Mr....did you ever play the game on both discs?
I'm speaking off of memory since I haven't played this shyt in Prolly over a decade but Each disc, while holding the entire game could be linked for what's called the 'Other half' of the story.
Remember Leon and Claire both got separated at the start of the game by a burning tanker that left them on opposite sides of Rac00n City. Depending on which one you chose for the first playthrough(Claire's Disc or Leon's Disc) you could play as the other and experience shyt that happened during your first playthrough and MR X was part of that SECOND Playthrough if I remember correctly.
Alot of people played both characters discs on the First playthrough but either didn't know or bother to hold that save file, boot up the next disc with that file and play through the other storyline that ran concurrent with the first one. The Zap System or some shyt since it didn't matter who you chose for either playthrough, the encounters and characters would always switch.
I've never put so many hours into beating a game multiple times like this since The Suffering...

Start the next playthrough using that same file. Should be like a new game plus type vibes available. On your second Playthrough with Claire you should be on the opposite side of your starting point.
You won't go through the Gunshop I think, you'll find some alternate route and within the first 30 minutes to an hour 'Something" should drop from the Sky and you'll know what the rest of us rambling about Dude been talking about.

If you have a strong enough pc you could just emulate the gamecube version. Models look amazing on the dolphin.

Man I played RE2 dozens of times back in middle school. I must've played it one time daily after school where me and my cousins would beat it in 2 hours every day. I still don't quite remember Mr.X. Even seeing footage of him my memory is foggy.
