Been this way for years nikkas.

This is why when people say "good music is out there u just have to look for it"... I know they are fukking idiots. What % of the hundreds of thousands of mixtapes on Datpiff are worth bandwidth, let alone time? 0.5%? 0.1%? U could listen to every tape on there for the rest of your life and probably not get through a quarter of it. So where the fukk am I supposed to "look" for this quality everyone is talking about.

Nobody is clicking through datpiff in hopes of finding dope new artists for that very reason of it having so much stuff on it breh, IDK what gave you that impression. You're better off checking blogs if thats the case.

I'm not even a Lloyd Banks fan like that but honestly the Banks mixtape is the best mixtape out.

I grabbed the Bronson, Roc Marc, and Banks tapes and Banks > the rest , no lie.

I couldn't believe how good it was tbh

whatever it may be... posting your shyt on there only promotes those sites and other mixtapes on those sites. While nikkas looking at your shyt on that site, their attention span won't solely be on your shyt. They will eventually abandon your shyt and click on the next interesting looking mixtape.

Simple case of hierarchy and how the human eyes reacts to the shyt in front of them on the screen

I salute the rappers that ventured out from Datpiff and realized that posted their shyt on Datpiff is simply promoting Datpiff.
I encourage rappers to build their own website for their music.

im surprised this isnt a bigger thing. rappers websites are  for the most part.

but then again it cost money to have a good site and most are broke.

As a nikka with a degree in Graphic Arts and Web Design I agree. Most amatuer websites be looking :flabbynsick: in terms of how outdated that shyt look.

It's all simplicity and hierarchy and those tools for your branding.

In my opinion... people respect your shyt more when you have a website and a your own logo. It tells them you're serious about your music, and not just posted mixtapes on Datpiff for statistics ya feel me?

Plus they would have to generate content to keep people coming back. GOOD content. Videos and shyt cost way more than half assing it in the booth
