You know who would have been good acting wise but not a big enough name to be a lead was Oli Power Grant. He did his thing as Knowledge in Belly.

Naw, at the time he got casted, X wasn’t ON yet. I remember him being just another rapper in the background they spoke to during an old interview back in the day before he had an album out, and he mentioned he had a movie he was working on (which of course was Belly).

In fact Hype said on the radio once, that the studio pulled the plug for the film , mid shoot
UNTIL DMX's album took off

Then the studio okayed them completing the film and forced changes to the story

X is probably one of the best rapper/actors since Pac/LL

Nas can't act neither and the two of them together would have just been a mess...... X's energy saved the film imo.
