I agree. Drake doesn't give his artists that push. But i'm saying - if he gave Tiller that push he would move crazy numbers
:heh: what more of a push does these artist need? They get a a few songs played on the ovo radio , they get to perform at the ovo fest plus a drake verse . Whatever happened to the kid that made the track Tuesday after he left ovo, these nikkaz have no worth ethic

If not Cash Money he could have been on Roc Nation and he was already Rap-A-Lot. He was going to be hot, dude was an A&R's dream...

Drake was always pop since '09 but he wasn't given pop treatment because he proved himself as a spitter. Still even then a lot of nikkas hated Drake. Shyt he had to convince me I thought that Best I Ever Had was trash. He was killing all those mixtape tracks like Stuntin' and Ransom. He showed out on Birdman album and the Young Money compilation in '09. He was killing the rap joints on So Far Gone too like Ignant Shyt, Say What's Real, The Calm. The rumblings then was he was writing for Wayne. Also, he had Comeback Season and Room For Improvement out where he was spitting.

Whose making memorable hip hop music then? All them projects are 7.5's or better except Views. Y'all nikkas go through great lengths just to hate.

So Far Gone only has four listenable songs?
Thank Me Later was trash?
Take Care only has two songs worth listening to outside of the Weeknd tracks?
Nothing Was The Same was completely forgettable?

What does this make 95% of other nikkas albums then nowadays?

That nikka Drake has his finger prints all over 2010's hip hop from his own shyt to all the features he's done he's going to be eating way after he's done how is his discography weak? Say what you want about Drake not writing and hopping trends but right now he can do a concert or release an album of just b-sides and featured verses.

:comeon:

Even when he was so called spitting he was never that special lyrically

I, in no way, cosign Take Care, or any Drake album as a classic. It can be discussed tho; because Drake was the best Drake (although inspired by the Weeknd) on that album.

1. Take A Shot For Me
2. Over My Dead Body
3. Crew Love
4. Take Care
5. the song with 3k
6. Hell Yea
7. Cameras
8. Look What You've Done
9. The Ride
10. Marvins Room
11. Practice

There are also promo records that didnt make that album that set trends (that so you know its real track with Ross) since then he has been on his blatent Shang Tsung steez.

No J.Cole albums are allowed into the classic discussion. Peep my sig.

Forrest hill drive and born dinner are better than any drake album

I would believe that if they were subpar records, but I wore both them shyts out my damn self, and was sick of them by the time they started getting played on the radio

Those records were undeniable, breh

Them shyts could've come out on Tommy Boy in '06 and they still would've been hits

Gotta give props where props is due

edit:

Man y'all really calling shyt like "Best I Ever Had" undeniable hip hop records?!?!?

:heh:

I don't know what urban pop is breh

They were mainstream hip hop records

The same type of radio singles hip hop artists have made forever
Nah
Ghostface 'Back Like That' is a mainstream hip hop record

'Best I Ever Had' not so much. Maybe a pseudo urban r&b anthem with rap 'touches' to it.
