Who exactly created this invisible baseline for "the norm"....
I love my kid, but I would be lying if I said I would do it over again if I had the chance...kids are tremendous work and not just a whim of oh let's have a baby.

me and my girl have been trying to have kids but it ain't working yet

but this mentally is exclusive to our community. nobody else is out here looking at men 25 and older w/o kids sideways

my co worker is well into his 40's and him and his wife are about to have their first kids

another co worker of mine had his first kids at 39, and another one got his girlfriend pregnant and married her.

all of them white...we're just different culturally.

This is nothing new especially with black men over 30 who are men of means and have no kids....also single.

But I made that choice NOT to have kids at 26....and I am 39 now....

I get more looks when I was out dating and honestly it bothers a lot of women as if something is wrong with me but...my father said something to me at 24 that I will never forget...

"Do you really want someone making the financial rules for you for the next 20 in a relationship because she has a child from you"?

and that gave me serious pause....


I do not shame anyone for having a family because it makes my heart and face smile wide when I see a black family out there doing the thang and then when I give that look I get it right back because I love to see a black family doing well....


Me not having children and having financial resources I do get rejected at first quite a bit but....then I always get that text or call days later....and it goes a lil sumthin like this...

Her - Hey I didn't mean to clown you for not having kids it's just rare to see a well to do brotha with no seeds.

Me - It's fine. I wish you well. Peace.

2 weeks later......

Her - Hey...I wanted to check up on you and see if you want to go out for dinner and start over. I didn't mean to come off like that.

Me -

You would be surprised how many women do find out I have no kids then give me the then immediately want to go raw and have me nut up in them but that is a entirely other thread.

and if you are curious...I have heard that shame from white and black women so it's not a matter of color in this case.

As for that shaming shyt....all I can say to those females is..

Last time I looked at the stats, over 52% of BM are not married & have no children. There's nothing abnormal about the OP.

Look i told my stories of how i dealt with single moms in the past and in public they put on this big smile like everything is good, but behind close doors they be breaking down crying to me, saying nobody wants them and they need help with their kid

my co worker who is a preacher tells me how he be having group talk with ladies at church with kids and how they be crying to him about the hard times at life raising a kid by themselves..

these women really need to cut that shyt out trying to shame people without kids knowing damn well many of your situations is fukked up.
