I find it funny that people say Mayweather is boring because he's so fukking good that he doesn't get hit, that it doesn't even look like a "fight."

If you want Mayweather's fights to stop being boring you need to actually be able to hit him, which doesn't happen very often. And the thing is that Mayweather, if you watch him, doesn't run from his opponents (in fact he spends a lot of time with his back against the ropes), he engages with them and makes them miss often and then counters. Even in this fight, Mayweather had has hands down half the time while he was against the ropes and Pacquiao still couldn't hit him. Maybe Mayweather is just THAT GOOD that it looks boring to the casual observer because he doesn't get hit, and because he doesn't get hit, he doesn't fight for the knockout because he can win easily without taking that risk.

It's a lot like watching a great defense and running game in football. You can appreciate it and be bored by it. I'm a Ravens fan so I'm pretty familiar with ugly action that I appreciate but most don't enjoy. From a tactical standpoint I can really appreciate what Floyd was able to do. It takes incredible skill and discipline. At the same time, if you're not a fan of his persona or you want to see some action as in some big hits or some knockdowns, it isn't going to be exciting watching him box. He may be great, and with a win that decisive, it's hard to say that if they fought six years ago Floyd wouldn't have been able to defend like that at 32, but his fights aren't all that thrilling, and that's fine. You don't get points for style. Points come for being effective.
