- WWE's booking committee are contemplating a scenario where CM Punk would drop the WWE Championship to John Cena at SummerSlam to set up a rematch between Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at Royal Rumble-Johnson announced at Raw 1,000 that he would face whoever the WWE Champion is at the January pay-per-view event. Johnson would defeat Cena at the Rumble and then defend the title against Punk at WrestleMania XXIX.

Been saying that for a while, no way that Punk would hold the belt for a calendar year. Plus Punk hasn't taken any time off since he came back last August. He's due for a month or two off.

Barring his elbow injury and a week after MITB 2011, he has never taken time off since he signed with the 'E. There's no way a guy like Punk is gonna take time to rest when he is in the peak of his career.
