Man fukk the DR. I'm never going back to that country again. Their racism is blanantly in your face even at the resorts.
what was your experience over there like?

and I doubt the beef will ever end, very few countries share a border and are as different as Haiti and DR are.

Bruh I was at the Iberostar and they legit have all dark skin people doing the manual labor and all light skin people on the customer facing jobs. Once I noticed it me and my wife tried to find an exception and we couldn't. Then we noticed it at restaurants off property.

I can't support that.

By the way the DR side of the border was oppened last week but Haiti has kept their side close and declared any product bought in DR as contraband including food and medicine.

Lol come one man you are talking about invading another country, not only is DR poor and small too but the US is our biggest commercial partner and a huge part of our job market, doing some shyt like that would be dumb af.
a lot of Haitians feel this way and at the end of the day outside of Port au Prince life ain't so bad.

But if shyt ai't really that bad then why do anything and when people do anything to get out and the super exploited then that's on them.

I mean either Haiti needs a ton of help or it doesn't.

That being said because of it's history no Haitian co signs intervention.

If you're a Haitian decent born in Miami you're gucci if you Cousin thrice removed has to get butt fukked 20 times before she makes it to Tiajuana then thems the breaks. One thing is for certain a Haitian refugee is seen in the same a an Aghani refugee or a PAL from Gaza refugee is they are Refused

Yep your paperwork is janky and you don't seem to have a needed skillset then you get a free bus ride back to Port au Prince. At the end of the day Haiti is a sovereign country it ain't on the DR to employ Haitan citzens.

I read about the Haitian taxi driver who had resided in DR for over 19 years before self deporting
He saw the Dominican army running up on Haitians and removing them from the country, with just the clothes on their backs
He decided to pack all his belongings and bounced
:mjcry:
Smart move. because if you don't self deport they put you on a bus all your belongings goes to the first Dominican or the cop that arrested you.

Way better to have a fire sale and go back to Haiti with pesos in your pocket than to go back with nothing.

Dude a lot of the customer facing staff are college students doing their intership or local guys/gals that got certified in hospitality, most of the manual labor are haitians that barely speak spanish let alone English (americans are the majority of the tourist we recieve)

One thing I will say, in America you can find client facing people that are not native english speakers, you don't see that over here no matter how well the person speaks Spanish, there is some clear xenophobia when it comes to haitians and some general racism like in every country in the world, but this is not some jim crow island like the coli seems to think.

The only black country they interact with is Haiti since they share a border with them , but I've never heard of them having issues with black countries like Jamaica or Bahamas.

also , with how anti-immigration The Coli is , they surely support this

:mjgrin::mjgrin:

Oh, DR has issues with Jamaica for a good while.
