kobe wasn't as athletic/explosive... maybe didn't trust his teammates as much... and yea maybe you can argue that MJ had the higher IQ on the court. but the differences are marginal.

apart from those things kobe's game was identical to MJ's... in fact his game had more finesse.

most importantly he had that same mental toughness.

MJ also came into the league having played under dean smith for 4 years. kobe came from HIGH SCHOOL.

if i were a coach and you told me i could have a guy on my team who's virtually identical to MJ but he shoots 7% less from the field... i'm okay with that. i'd still probably take him over any player in the league today... lebron of course being the only player where it becomes a tough decision.

87 MJ is slightly > 03 or 06 Kobe

96 n 97 MJ is slightly > 08 ish Kobe

88-93 MJ > any Kobe
