Not really..In many places the population of the metro area is larger than the rest of the state combined.
It impacts the local level more than the national level. It's also why Republicans will have the House for a very long time

well the house is national and every state gets two senators regardless of population size. i'd say having a disproportional advantage in both houses of congress is a problem.
