Serious question… this didn’t happen in America so why should we have more knowledge on this over other holocausts that have happened within the last century?
Maybe having basic knowledge of one of the biggest events on the globe of the past 100 years is a good thing.
Are you really suggesting that Americans only study things within its borders?

Which, fukking hell, the rabbit hole we can go down if we're gonna expose THAT ignorance....

I made a thread a few minutes ago about South Carolina and law graduates.
Somehow you didn't find your way to commenting on that one though.

I wonder why this thread got the puters puting.

It actually is American history. American armies helped liberate many of these camps.
My goodness. A lot of this board really is uneducated.

Breh it was 80 years ago, brehs did not even have civil rights and black folks were still getting lynched and couldn't drink out of fountain.

The average person knows of the Holocaust, Anne Frank, Auschwitz

How many people know that Stalin killed 6 million of his own people, or about Pol Pot killed 25% of the then Cambodian population. How about how China's "Great Leap Forward" is estimated in killing 30 million people. Do you know about any of the re-education camps in in of those circumstances?

Certainly Colis resident TikTok defense force and our Putin stans would deny these things happened

The holocaust was a random thing?

:gucci:
Most Americans know what the Holocaust is, but trying to shyt on modern day people for not knowing the names of holocaust concentration camps specifically is so lame.

I have weird interests and know random ass stats, but I am also self aware. I don't feel like I'm smarter than the next man because I know these random ass stats. This thread is silly AF.

Lack of education will be the death of hundreds of millions. Apparently the ADL needs to go after those school districts.....

Yeah, brehs are willing to be ignorant of history as long as $$$ isn't in for them.
The ADL needs to worry about learning what a Nazi salute looks like

Yeah I don't really get this.
There's not a binary aspect to learning about history.

Nobody said you can't learn about black history AND world history.
It's honestly baffling to me that people are responding this way.

Yeah I don't think the name of a concentration camp is a random thing.

90% of American adults can't name a plantation.
I'm more concerned with that tbh.
Whitney and Evergreen in Louisiana cause i visited. there were some more that i checked out in Louisiana (btw, they have a whole lot of intact plantations), but i don't have instant recall with them like the aforementioned two.

as for concentration camps: Auschwitz.
