As a long time Wu fan, I gotta admit this is kinda true. Had a lot of these dudes been solo nobody would have paid them of them any attention.

That's the point of being in a group.

I think one of the less told stories about how HH has evolved is the end of groups. And I mean groups, not crews, so no need to mention OF, TDE, Pro Era, Asap, etc. Groups like the Wu (and others) allowed brehs to shine in limited minutes and come with only their strongest material : you're right in saying that no one would have checked for a U-God or MK solo. And when MK finally dropped No Said Date, it really was a group effort, which made it a very good album. They knew their limits.
