It uses these literary devices. Not that they sat around saying "Im going to use an aphorism or irony here God"....but the fact that they do anyway. Add the delivery and content and it's worth a scholarly analysis. I think Liquid Swords posse cuts are probably better examples.

Forget the AP English...it's well crafted poetry, and not just chanting, or low level diction....which makes it high caliber .

My other top choices are Eminem, Ras Kass, Andre 3000......who could have whole songs broken down.

Tupac,cube,scar face,Jay,Nas, dmx, old 50,old juvenile, fabolous,plies, Ross,bone,snoop,old no limit and cash money, etc etc

None of these people have better verses than Wu's best verses. Snoop hasn't spit a stellar verse since '96. As for the others...Nas has wack songs even though his pen is the best, people really only mention 3 Jay albums (OK, 3 and a possible), no one will admit that 1/2 of pac's catalog is ehhhhh, and DMX..well blame the crack. Cube, he hasn't put out top quality since Bow Down. And even before that, he had already fallen off. The only one that really drops quality consistently is Face. So, that puts them right with the Wu.

With Wu, sure they have high and low profile members, but they figured out the formula to making dope albums. Everyone tried to copy (Cash Money, No Limit, Roc, RR), but Wu did it in a way that the albums still manage to sound different.

I ain't gonna sit here & front like I listen to U-God, Cappadonna, INS, or Masta Killa's catalogs but there is at least 5-6 masterpiece/classic albums generated between GFK, Raekwon, RZA, and GZA alone.
