Its not common. Just as black people with blue eyes ain't common but it does on the rare occasion happen.

Genes are like probabilities. The dominant traits are what is MOST LIKELY. But its not a guanrantee. Sometimes the odds line up so the recessive trait shows up.

Thats literal horseshyt. There's no one 'dominant' gene for a bunch of inherited traits. There's literally billions of traits which, due to human mass migration over the last 50,000 years have ended up more in some groups than others.

You can even prove this with your eyes on a micro level by looking at a mixed black and white person. Their skin color is usually right in the middle of the parents, hair midway between afro and straight, nose, mouth, other features etc are generally evened out.

The perception of this has more to do with white society (at least historically) not accepting black or mixed people, but mixed race people look mixed race, unless you're looking at them with biased (either black or white) eyes.
