Halloween all the way. Nightmare is a close second. Friday the 13th had a bunch of unlikable characters and they ruined the film's legacy with all those sequels.

in terms of scary halloween takes the cake (well at least the first one), nightmare is 2nd but i never thought it was scary for some reason, and friday the 13th is just a good bloody time.

Pretty much on point but the strongest series is the Friday the 13th series. By far the most consistent and the only one with multiple strong sequels(Part 2, Part 3 and The Final Chapter for instance).

I never really got into Friday the 13th but I just watched the OG Nightmare and still love it and just copped Halloween on bluray.
