The reviews I'm reading from the main sites are saying that the story leaves a lot to be desired especially since you hardly play as chief, but the Multiplayer (all I care about ) is excellent.

If they just expound on what they did with the beta, I know I'm going to be satisfied

Pretty much. I don't really care for the campaign in Halo games.
