Had this on by accident today because this came on after the Iverson 30-for-30. I was givin' props.
Then Coach got on there and was keepin' it funky enough:

ESPN: "What do you say to kids who say 'Lacrosse is a white sport'?"
Coach Louie Carter: "I tell 'em 'Lacrosse is actually a Native American sport. Caucasians took it over and took it
to another level...but now we get to come in and put some flavor to it...'"

I was at Morgan when they tried to bring back their team....it was a good idea, but not a lot of backing from the university...

Oh well, congrats to Hampton....LAX isn't a money maker, most of the professional players have 9 to 5s during the off-season, and it's definitely a "mayonnaise" culture in that locker room...I'll also say I met some of my best friends playing the game..I'm sure they'll run into some racist pricks more than a few times this year, but I'm sure they'll hold each other down.

We interviewed Coach Carter a few weeks back, real, cool, down to earth guy. He talked about the racism him and his teammates faced when he was playing at Morgan State in the late 70s-early 80s, building the program at Hampton, and the uphill battle in growing lacrosse among African Americans
