Very true but I think they know. I could understand if they said they didn't realize people were being killed and beaten by cops before the internet. There's no way anyone could be so oblivious to not know cops are abusing their power everywhere in real time. They just don't care enough to do anything about it.

I can understand not charging/disciplining the shooting officer cuz he had to react to the situation presented to him. But the officer who recklessly allowed him to get the gun should be disciplined and charged with involuntary manslaughter.
