Obviously there are plenty of cases of people having inflated ego's.
But i think for the most part it's pretty easy to tell objectively how attractive you are compared to other people.
Standards of beauty are a social construct. Understanding these social norms isn't any more challenging than understanding any other social construct.
If you are capable of having a grasp on things people find offensive for example.(some people don't) you should be able to grasp what people find attractive.
At the very least you should know the difference between a desirable height and weight versus undesirable. Good teeth versus bad teeth, good hairline versus a receding one etc.

I normally don't have a beard (no I'm not a c00n, it's just what I'm used to and other reasons) or at most, slight facial hair. I get a lot of comments whenever I do grow my beard in full (during any vacation). I have noticed most black women prefer me with a beard, most non-black women prefer me without. Again, I'm not c00ning.

Facts! I shaved my beard into a goatee and immediately noticed a difference in the race of women complimenting me.
Unfortunately for me, I wasnt looking for pawg attention.
