The creator of TV's Hannibal wants to make a series with Zendaya as Clarice Starling. The show Hannibal was inspired by Thomas Harris' novels, 1981's Red Dragon, 1999's Hannibal, and 2006's Hannibal Rising. Those same books introduced Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling, two of the most legendary modern cinematic and literary characters.

In an interview with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan for Dust Bunny at TIFF, Hannibal's creator, Bryan Fuller, has now revealed who he wants to bring his version of Clarice to life. During his promotional tour for Dust Bunny, a horror movie that stars Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen, Fuller talked about his legendary psychological horror show that ended too soon.

While speaking to ScreenRant, Fuller was asked about the possibility of Hannibal returning. In response, Fuller revealed that he dreamed of creating a show that would feature Mikkelsen's version of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and a version of Clarice portrayed by Zendaya.

ScreenRant: At one point, wasn't there talk of more Hannibal?

Bryan Fuller: My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.

Hell no, she plays the same angsty character in all her shows and movies. She’s not a strong actress in my opinion. I can see her bombing this like that Malcom and Marie movie.

Can we get more original screenplays?

Most stuff coming out is reboots, superhero movies, and stuff for kids
People don't show up when original movies come out. These nerds cheered on the acquisition of Fox so Disney could get the X-Men. We've had shyt movies for the past 7 years since then. And very few Fox movies. If Paramount buys Warner Brothers it'll be very bleak

This is what the studios say, but what about Weapons? And Sinners?
Tons of original movies drop every year. One or two come out of left field and make noise at the box office. The rest are largely ignored in favor of the franchises, sequels, remakes, and reboots people swear they're tired of.

And yet people keep going to watch their remakes, reboots etc.

I think Zendaya can pull it off, imo. Not saying she Jodie Foster but she has the ability. The better question is who is going to be Hannibal :lupe:

Outside of horror movies and kids films, original films can pop with the right director, actors, & concept. There's a clear difference between something like the upcoming "One Battle After Another" or "Uncut Gems" and the runoff films that tend to drop in January and February.

You have to convince people that this is something they NEED to see in theaters instead of waiting for streaming. It worked for boring ass Oppenheimer. :lolbron:
