Kobes played with more hall of famers than any player I've seen play, period. And I been watching the NBA since 88 when most of you clones werent even born.

  • Shaquille O'Neal - nuff said
  • Pau Gasol - Was a perennial all star and one of the best bigs in the league way before he came to Los Angeles
  • Karl Malone - Slightly past his prime but was still top 10 (if not top 5) PF when he came to LA
  • Gary Payton - Nuff Said
  • Mitch Richmond - ok so he was washed up by then
  • Steve Nash - Past his prime but still efficient and top 10 PG
  • Dwight Howard - Yes he will be a hall of famer

Dude should have had 12 rings by now. Gotta give props to the Lakers as an organization too because they know how tu surround their stars with other stars

13 9 was a top 5 PF back in 03 huh? :troll:

Dont get it twisted, doggie. Mailman put up these number as a 3rd option on a team with a ballhog like Kobe and Shaq fighting eacother for the ball. But mailman could have still put up 25 and 12 at that time. He was still fresh and you know that mofo is in great shape.
His main purpose on that squad was mainly to defend the top PFs in the west at the time which were the likes of

  • Duncan
  • Webber
  • McDyess (inured in 03 i think)
  • Amare Soudemire (young at the time)
  • Dirk Nowtsky
  • Garnett

Mailman was always known as a great low post defender without being a shot blocker and you know Phil wasn't about to put Shaq out there to defend those guys.

Your not winning a title with either dwight or James as your best player.

They're both better suited as robins

and i got 0 sympathy for those phgts :to:

they deserve everything they get

How was Pau a "perennial all star" and he made one all star team before coming to LA?

You nikkaz can't even hate right

Okay fine but dude was a star on the rise regardless. It's not like he never made an all star game or never been to the playoffs before he donned purple and gold

But Breh, How was he a "star on the rise" when he made ONE all star team in 7 years and never won a playoff game?:patrice: Thats a star on the rise? The Grizz were nowhere close to the playoffs in 08' as well

He wasnt seen as elite(like top 15 player in the league) until Kobe became his teammate. Then people started to revise history

He was never top 15 player period. Top 10 at his position, yes. Dude was the only player even worth mentioning on a damn lottery team that managed to carry said team to 3 or 4 playoff berths. He worked for his all star appearance and perhaps only rewarded for one. How many All star appearances should Mitch Richmond ,Josh Smith, or even Steve Nash SHOULD have been in and didnt get in?

All I'm saying is Kobe, can never look at the Lakers as an organization and say they didnt give him enough to work with.
