IF KD WINS THIS SERIES
WITH THIS TEAM FULL OF HAS BEENS & JOURNEY MEN WHERE ARE YOU
GONNA RANK HIM?

Nah, nah Blake Griffin been balling, Bruce Brown just dropped 16, Joe Harris is one of the best shooters in the game today, Steve Nash is a genius coach. And I'm not really into all the ranking shyt but I see players on STACKED teams getting adulation and solo superstars getting destroyed, clowned and disrespected when they don't get it done.

I want that same energy when dudes on these STACKED teams have to go at it solo for whatever reason and show the SAME vulnerabilities as other superstar players not on STACKED teams show in the playoffs. :martin:

Those same solo superstars get all the credit in the regular season when they put up video game numbers when they have the ball 90% of the time too.

this has absolutely nothing to do with what I said or what I was talking about with breh

dudes really got offended when that best player in the world thread got made especially due to the timing of it (bron and the lakers had just got eliminated)

ya folks hated the super team shyt but this new line of discussion resulted from that recent thread
Multiple things can be true. Yes, that particular thread planted seeds for this one because cats ran in to crown KD, and the OP is a known Bron hater who knows how to use more subtlety than most. But the pushback given here has the right context the contrast between those 2 have been drawn for a while and the man who's been the best for the last decade has actually delivered in the challenge KD is being given right now.

So yes cats (like me) take some offense but this is something we've always said KD has yet to do anyway.

Just Klay = Joe Harris, plus Griffin, Green, Brown
None of those players are a top @5-20 player in the league who can go supernova as if he was a top 5 player, but I do need to see KD deliver on the same standards other have been held to.
sure but if I mention today is warm, I don’t really need someone interjecting and telling me it’s monday…it’s true but irrelevant
But it's not irrelevant at all.

But ya'll wasn't saying this a week ago when Durant had Kyrie and Harden and was the best player on the planet. The achilles injury wasn't even a issue of concern then.

He’s literally the ONLY player besides Dominique Wilkins to suffer an achilles tear and then come back as if nothing had ever happened. Thats impressive as hell.

It is but I don't think many people doubted Durant would get buckets coming back from that injury. Because he doesn't rely on his athleticism, he more skilled based and his jumper will be what it is most likely at age 50 for him.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Its just hilarious how this board wants Durant perceived as a greater player than all his contemporaries, but held to a lower bar than them all. And it aint just Bron---->a recent thread revealed cats want him graded differently than Kawhi. Add Steph, Harden, Giannis, Westbrook, Paul, a few more...

Dudes want to convince you Durant is so much greater than everybody but God forbid you hold him to the same standards you hold his peers to lmao...

That said, 2.5 quarters without Kyrie isn't enough to proclaim his effort as a failing one, so cats saying that are outta line. But there were some tells in that 2.5 quarters that are worth talking about...

After Kyrie's exit Durant went 6-19 with 4 of his 5 turnovers. This is not the first glimpse we've seen of KD without another elite scorer next to him, and historically this is what he turns into. Forcing bad shots (he had one go off the side of the backboard tonight), careless ball handling (was stripped by PJ once and lost another in transition), inconsistent movement without the ball, limp wrist passes, etc...

It hasn't been often he's had to play without an elite scoring teammate, and even in those stretches he's still prone to get hot and torch you. But more often, in these rare occasions, his efficiency and tenacity take a nose dive, and you see this in his body language too. So something im watching in G5, is if he's overcome this, that while it's a tougher road to plow without your elite help, he can stay in the game with something at least close to his normal shot selection and ball handling. If you lose you lose, but don't let the loss be because you can't elevate your performance...

I can't even begin to wrap my head around people's thinking. We saw him do ALRIGHT on the Sonics/Thunder. But he didn't win a ring. One finals. One MVP....

All the sudden he joins a 73 win team and the very next time has Harden and Kyrie in their prime... And from those two stretches, we grading him? When he was pretty much single covered for 4 years straight? When he could close his eyes, pass the ball, and have a 50% chance of hitting a future 1st ballot hall of famer? When he had the best shooting backcourt of all time and then the best backcourt of all time?

That's the time to hone in on his career and say he's the best out? When other people are carrying worse teams to the same results... Exactly which team would lose if you took off KD and added _____________?

People are delusional
