I'm going to contend a point guard like Steph Curry who is the centerpiece of the team has a ton of responsibility on top of their physical skills.

They have to make decisions the second the ball changes sides in a dynamic environment where lead changes potentially happen second to second. One good/bad play can lead to a run for either side.

If the other team misses/makes a shot and they're up/down by 5 with 4 minutes left, the point guard has to they have to know the match-ups, who has the hot hand, if the other team has the hot hand, what play fits the current snapshot, if the other team will send a double to the players they want to get the ball to, etc. Then they potentially have a pesky defender in their face the second they touch the ball and got to bring the ball up court while thinking what the next play has to be.

They call what needs to be ran and then they have to execute it.

i can see why some people say corner but not all corners are cover 1 corners plus you have safety help over the top.....rare to be on an island all game...

Imma go QB just off the shear knowledge you have to have as far as knowing all of the plays....then you have like 2 seconds to recognize the defensive and audible to another play that exposes the defense ....then you gotta recognize the defense in the middle of a play (if they disguised and switched coverage) while 300 pound guys are trying to take your head off....then deliver on pinpoint accuracy while your guy is runnin like 4.3 speed....factor in crowd noise and shyt ....gotta be #1. This is why so many qb's wash out that were supposed to be the future while you see some qb's around forever even as back ups and you're wondering why they are still around. It's all of the off field preparation cant just rely on athletic ability

Same line of thinking applies to corners. QB has the advantage of knowing where their receivers are going to be, even calling an audible at the line to get them where you want them to be. Defensively you have to recognize the formation, know the tendencies (what routes they like to run on specific down and distances) and really just rely on instinct. It's incredibly difficult to defend a WR all the while being cognizant of where the football is. And that's just defending the pass, they're also the smallest guys on defense who have to come up in run support.

The physical beating you take is brutal. And the amount of studying and prep work that goes into successfully handling a pitching staff and calling a good game is unreal.

True but again they get help. Also they don't call the plays in the huddle and when in formation it's the MIC that calls the audibles. Also the defensive playbook is a fraction of the offensive playbook to memorize it's mostly just coverage and schemes. I believe corners are the most skilled, athletic and vulnerable positions but QB is tougher in regards to having to have the IQ, athleticism and toughness...when the starting QB goes down that's pretty much the season, corners can be replaced easier

The Truth
in my opinion it's either attacking midfielder , point guard or quarterback.

Attacking midfielder because you're literally running off your ass for 90 minutes

Point guard or quarterback because you essentially have the pressure of running the entire offense and have to have crazy iq and decision making to be efficient.
I would put one up on PG over QB because you're actually expected to play defense and be in at least decent shape

to me difficult means you have to read the plays and make the hardest decisions..

cornerback and all those type of position is really about athleticism.. but the position itself is easy.

i would go with point guard because you have to watch for 9 players on the field to make the best decision.

Catcher. the equipment is heavy and makes no sense. To bat, everything is removed, then u have to put the armor on again to play. Pitchers trying to take your head off. Or its a curve/breaking/knuckle, you have to predict movement and catch it. Miss one pitch with people on base and its pure chaos. Baserunners constantly trying you. Some of these guys taking home plate try to destroy the catcher. Glad i played 3rd base :manny:

Yeah, all this.

Plus, now that we're in the dog days, you think about all that gear they've got to wear, in that crouch for however long (and if the pitcher's having a bad day, it's a long time)...:damn:!

I was a catcher in Little League. Given how oppressive B-more summers were/are...man, I felt like a human oven. (I was short and rotund, though, so where else could I play? :francis::laugh:)
