Which NFL team fell off the hardest in your opinion?

My gut reaction is Dallas; going from 3 rings in four years to 30 years of not even making the conference finals is crazy :picard:

But on the other hand they've at least made the playoffs a few times

The Dolphins went from dominant champions in the 70s, to contenders in the 80s, to a decent team in the 90s ... Then they got the worst beatdown I've ever seen in Marino's last game and had a stretch where they made the playoffs twice in 20 years :flabbynsick: They haven't made the conference finals in 33 years :hhh:

The Raiders have the most recent SB appearance out of the three, but have only made the playoffs twice in the 23 years since then :flabbynsick:

Cowboys have had the worst run objectively
Raiders have been irrelevant for a generation

But.... they're still the Cowboys and the Raiders. 2 of the top 10 most notable brands in all of sports history. That doesn't mean shyt on the field but it does matter in the conversation of "falling off".

The Dolphins tho :mjlol: the only reasons they don't get shytted on more are that they're in a division with the Jets and nobody gives a fukk about them anyway. I couldn't tell you more than like 10 guys who played for them from post-Marino/Fieldler until Tua. Just one of the most irrelevant brands in the league.

Cowboys fell off hard but the media is always going to prop them up. If the team is ok they're called a Super Bowl contender, and if they're dogshyt they're called a dark horse. Every offseason.

Raiders get zero love. Whereas I hope the Cowboys are trash forever I would like to see the Raiders get back. They've drafted some good players recently and Geno can win them games.

Do the Browns count after going to the AFCCG 3 times in 4 years in the 80s, then falling off on the 90s then losing their team? Their new iteration has made the playoffs three times since '99, IIRC.
That was brief

I think Dallas had only missed the playoffs like 7 times in 33 Years

I mean falling off from what point? Some of these teams were never on to start with.

Easy to say it's the Cowboys falling off from being a dynasty to can't even consistently win one playoff game a year. Teams like the Bills were never on. The highlight of their entire franchise is losing the superbowl to the NFC East 4 years in a row.

I'm gonna go with a dark horse and say "Da Bears!"

Growing up in the 80s the Bears were synonymous with old school hard knocks football. Only other team I actively followed as a kid and rooted for besides the Eagles were the Bears.

Outside that blip during the Devin Hester and Urlacher years where they made a Super Bowl, they've been a laughing stock since damn near Mike Singletary retired.
