Was up there last year at my pop's place off 147th and 7th. Saw a white woman joggin around Jackie Robinson pool. I was straight up like

Oakland is becoming the new Brooklyn. SF's cost of living with gentrification is destroying any chance of the middle class or working poor surviving.

Last time I was in Sylvia's it was like being in Juniors in Midtown....and don't give me that...it's been like...no it wasn't.

Most of Harlem is losing it's vibe. It's more yoga studios and Crepperie's shops than in The Village.

I f*cking hate this yuppie bullshyt they're putting up everywhere. More luxury condos, more yoga studios, more coffee shops and expensive eateries. These motherf*ckers are so generic and wacksauce and gets on every single last nerve I have. They are literally all the same and have no integrity or individuality. Pretty much
Bohemes live there cause the price is cheap (ie the first wave of gentrifiers from Manhattan to BK in the 90s/early 00s)
Hipsters follow (and the landlords exploit them by having them pay inflated prices cause they know they can get away with it and they know they'll pay for it)
and then Yuppies are the only ones that can afford to live there when all is said and done.

There are some waterfront condos in Williamsburg that start at $9500 A MONTH (near Greenpoint/McCarren)...that was something that could barely be thought of a decade ago...cause I'd say 88% percent of the new folks inhabiting North Brooklyn would of been scared shytless to come into Brooklyn back then.
