This.

There's no other reason to call that shyt the "Harlem Shake" other than to make fun of Black people.

That aside, however....white people in general are corny as fukk with respect to what "catches on" with them.

:heh: GTFOH

Get mad at the dj Baauer for naming the song Harlem Shake.

I laughing at this faux outrage because Original Harlem Shake was a fad itself. No one in NYC doing or care about this corny dance for ten years. Now they want to feel 'disrespected' :laff:

:russ: @ someone saying Larry Harlem :flabbynsick:

I think it's a case of cultures clashing and a misunderstanding of intent more than anything. People from harlem are going to look at it as whites mocking their region or their dance...or just black people in general - and white people have stolen a bunch of shyt from the black community in terms of music, lingo, style etc. This entire 'movement' stems from a group of guys in their bedrooms dancing to a song by a producer named Baauer and doing stupid stuff when the beat drops :snoop:

Key point - white people DO STUPID shyt, and it catches on like wildfire. And then everybody is doing it (see: planking, coning, gangnam style). If people want to feel like it's a mockery of their race/region, they're entitled to that opinion, but I feel like it's a giant case of white people doing dumb shyt :manny:

Yeah, course white people do all the stupid shyt and black people do all the intelligent shyt.

But.....sorry.....Who made that dance up again....?

:dead: @ fake outrage over a fukking dance

the people of harlem should be more worried about the hipsters that are invading their neighborhood instead of a fukking dance that hasn't been popular since tall tees were in style :pachaha:

The song is called Harlem Shake because it samples

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va-AY7jOh04#t=232s"]Plastic Little, "Miller Time" - YouTube[/ame]

A guy from this group put the line in the song because he got into a fight, whooped dude's ass and did the harlem shake because he didn't know how to end the fight.

The producer behind the song Harlem Shake has nothing to do with the videos. Someone posted a video of themselves dancing and the meme was created.

and if you thought you were too cool to do that shyt, you was doin that Jadakiss "we gonna make it" dance. That was a rare time you could be in the middle of a dance floor and not move your feet and still look swagged out.

Once you heard that "fukk THA FRAIL shyt" you ran out there, maybe you had the Brawny or Bounty paper bandana, but you was there with your fist clenched above your shoulder mannnnnnnn.

Good ol' days. I'd love to see a timeline of popular dances in a particular year and shyt and see how it has gone to shyt.

:ohlawd: @ the imagery in this post.

Ny could have a timeline on its own

Old heads 2 steppin or doing the bow wow style shake (brushing shoulders off etc) trying to keep the bands on they fitted white (paper towel) while rockin headbands and jerseys =/= cacs in spandex tweekin and humping air

Neither does young nikkas in a circle chanting their homeboy's dancing handle while he tone wops like his favorite aunt's life depended on it

Its so...
