Thats what Im saying!! This has been a pet peeve of mine ever since that Quik vs Kanye thread was made. People were really trying to put Quik over one of the most progressive artists in hip hop :snoop:

dudes sound is straight up 80s. I really like some of his material but hes just not one of the greatest artists hip hop has to offer

A vast majority of Kayne's music is soul samples stop it

now this I agree with....quik is a nice lil all star level player, that heads try to put up there with the Goat's. Its crazy annoying. I think west coast heads want that superstar produce to exalt. They cant really latch on to dre, cause a lot of niqqas think he gay, and their idol pac died beefin with him.

Look, we all have our opinions and preferences....but what kinda chit is this to say??

"Progressive" does not mean "better". And "progress" in this context is opinion, as well.

"His sound is straight up 80s"...no punk, his style is funky! For people to move and have fun to...and the NERVE of him to learn to play something and have live instruments on his album, huh? No matter what innovations come along, funk is here to stay niccas.

"He's not one of the greatest hip-hop has to offer"...and to illustrate that, you compare him to someone whom you admit doesn't have as good a discography as him.

This song is about you.

Just his early stuff
no, his current shyt is heavily sampled

with heavy emphasis on the word shyt because you take this, one of the most important songs in American History

and turn it into Blood On the Leaves :scusthov:
Nothing progressive about that bullshyt at all

I feel you. When youre talking about the greatest artists in hip hop thats something serious though. I mean you have to think about whos pushed the genre forward, whos had the most provocative, groundbreaking musical ideas... Putting out some funky material just doesnt cut it

Harry fraud is not a producer he is a good beat maker. Quik got him on drums, mix and original compositions. Quick has classics in 3 different decades.

If u gonna compare two producers at least say why cuz these two are far from being on the same level

Bingo
