It’s crazy! on that note, I’m interested in your perspective on how you think this is gonna end? I’ve always genuinely appreciated your posts over the years here so I’m curious what you think on happen overall.

The way I read it the courts are the only thing standing in Trump's way. Being re-elected after support a coup d'etat, among other things, emboldened Trump to feel that he can do anything he wants. So there is no limit to what he's willing to do to bully Harvard over these issues.
I hope the checks and balances built into the political system protects Harvard, and other universities.

It's also a misunderstanding of what the grants are for. It's not a billion dollar donation, Harvard won the grants to do specific research that it is in a relatively unique position to do. Trade schools aren't going to be able to take over, eg, Harvard's cancer immunotherapy research...
