nikkas always complaining that nowadays trap beats is all you hear, but a trap rapper has NEVER been the number 1, king in the game and damn sure not the most popular

you must have been too young... there was a point where everyone was wearing snowman shirts. EVERYONE
Jeezy bigger than 50 in 05? :patrice:

As for OP you're point is stupid, the fact of the matter is that trap beats have dominated the urban world for a while

i think 50 had a bigger mainstream buzz because of the Interscope push, but for Jeezy to be a brand new rapper his street buzz/play was crazy in 05'. I don't know if this makes sense to some people but Jeezy's street buzz was parallel to 50's mainstream buzz during that time. I was back and forth between New York, South Carolina and Atlanta and Jeezy was everywhere in the streets. Yes, 50 was everywhere too but remember he was just the biggest act at the time and had the biggest push from one of the biggest labels under Dre and Em. Jeezy came out on his own and had a crazy run right out the gate.

It's arguable imo... 50 was huge that year too, but Jeezy held his own when he dropped, arguably was on top at a certain point in that same year. Their releases were 4 months apart
