Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Miami and NYC were the majotity of of black people today aren't even AADOS you say? And even still I bet i could hit some hole in the wall aados spots where ain't nobody jamming no tropical shyt. AADOS around me here in Houston and the rest of the south sure as hell ain't jamming no ABs or DH.

lol An aados rapper from my city alone that I don't even listen to on the regular has many times more hits on tik tok than that don't rush shyt you're referring to.

A tik tok trend doesn't inform the general taste of the aados community, sorry.

Well that’s because Caribbean immigrants aren’t big in most of the south.

In Atlanta black foreign music is getting popular by the day.

I love both, and Dancehall ain't falling off cause of slackness :mjlol:. Its falling off, simply cause there aren't any true great artist, and the few(Busy Signal), dont get seem to get that push.

And also the lack of proper riddims and younger producers who really know all aspects of music. Also lack of artist and musician apprenticeship.

Wizkid is much better than this come on now.

Kartel still the GOAT though, and he’s been working with Afrobeats artist also

Burns Boys album is the best album of 2019 though for me all genres, I’d advise any black music lover to go listen to that album, a lot of Afrobeats and Dancehall artists are single artists, very few have an album like African Giant.

That last track is pure heat :dj2::dj2:

Reading this threat is very interesting because where I'm at u be hearing dancehall almost as much as afro imo

Afro I do think has a edge especially as it seems we have more Africans than Caribbeans in PHX

Trying to listen to all the stuff that's been posted in here. And I'm not feeling any of it
Afrobeats( an reggae dancehall) guess I now know for sure afrobeats is just not my thing.
Ahh well. I don't go to African/Caribbean events so:yeshrug:

The music posted in here all sound alike. Can't get into it.

I find most nonAmerican music hard to listen to tho.

Final point Black music no matter which culture it comes from, is at its best when its targeted audience are black men AND black women. The moment black music strays into mainstream/white/non black consumption territory then we get the junk that we have now.

The negativity is brought on when our music(developed primarily by straight aados men), community, and culture is disrespected, ridiculed, and critiqued endlessly by outsiders as uncouth, ghetto, misogninistic, homophobic, violent, mindless, stupid or w/e, and then to add insult to injury when these same outsiders then do a 180 and hop on the wave, start copying it, or trying to profit off of it in some way. This has been happening since the time of blues and jazz(earlier if you really want to get down to it) at the hands of racist whites and their children who appropriate our music.

Just like you saying that modern aados music sucks when your people are STILL copying our modern trends while we don't even care about yours. Notice I never said AB or DH "sucks", because it's all objective. All I said is they will never be a staple among aados. But, when we remind you of how influential we are and you aren't y'all wanna play the victim and stay we're "chest thumping" and being bullies.

We know how jealous and insecure you non-ados are of our clout, impact, and influence, and how much you resent us because you don't have it. It's hard for us to just ignore that and act like things are all peachy with us.

Reggae/dancehall has fallen off over the last few years but at its prime, Afrobeats isnt touching it, imo...
when's the last time you went to a club or to a fete

a lot of juelzling in this post and you fukkin know it, a lot of people and even all the 40+ old heads says hip-hop NOW sucks they didn't in it's entirety. Granted I listen to all the young and upcoming artist but I remember there was a time on this board if you posted any artist under the age of 25 especially a trap rapper, you were getting NEGGED to oblivion, that was one of the reasons I moved to ktt in 2014-2016 for a bit

I remember the EARLY years when all these old heads were calling people like young thug, travis scott, and lil uzi vert trash and now look at them
