No, aados music genre has WI musical influence in it. I can enjoy bob marley or fukkin elvis presley, but that wouldn't mean the music that I made was influenced by reggae or white rockability.

We don't fw none of that foreign tropical shyt in our community period. Same way we don't fw with white ppl music or asian music outside of teenage girls with kpop. If they was in here fronting about it I'd tell them the same shyt.

Who said anything about influence? What the hell are you on about, I said African Americans at one time listened to Bob Marley so your argument about it never mattering in the African American communities is a wrong one, you started the argument with something about AADOS being so insular that they would never listen to Afrobeats, which is why people started mentioning to you that actually there was one time that Dancehall and Reggae was pretty big in America amongst AADOS, not on the level of any AADOS genres but to the point where you could hear these songs in the club, and pretty much every black of that generation could point you to at least one Dancehall song, so im saying that maybe Afrobeats could reach the same peak.

That was what the argument was about before you came here all butthurt for what reason I don’t know.

Can this topic please get back to an Afrobeat discussion instead of a discussion or critiques of other genres of music in the diaspora.
People intentionally sabotage music and heritage debates. Partly because, despite the flag waving and flaming that goes on here, a lot of people aren't educated enough about their own culture(s) to add anything to discussions about music.

a lot of juelzling in this post and you fukkin know it, a lot of people and even all the 40+ old heads says hip-hop NOW sucks they didn't in it's entirety. Granted I listen to all the young and upcoming artist but I remember there was a time on this board if you posted any artist under the age of 25 especially a trap rapper, you were getting NEGGED to oblivion, that was one of the reasons I moved to ktt in 2014-2016 for a bit

I remember the EARLY years when all these old heads were calling people like young thug, travis scott, and lil uzi vert trash and now look at them


I was in Jamaica last October... went to a couple of clubs there.

The talent coming out of the Reggae specifically Roots is endless...The genre as a whole will never die!
Even with dancehall as much as its fallen off, the talent and dope riddims with a modern twist are still there to make a bigger footprint for sure If the artist ever wakeup.....

Its 2020 though where multiple sounds/genres can coincide......

afrobeat isn't really popular in France I think. African influence music dominates France, but it's mostly Congolese, Ivorian fusion music with Arab dikkriding

It could be popular in Italy though with Naijas already making a name for themselves there.
Nah man, it's big and growing exponentially here. I was down south and heard a white restaurant play some Burna that's when I thought :whoo: It's really permeating.

The black diaspora is on it and more and more people catching up. At least that's my experience.

Personally I prefer the artists that are putting their own twist on it like Santi. It's more alternative but I always appreciate originality.



And lol @ saying cacs can't get on it :russ: it's already in process. Which I'm not mad at as long as the OGs continue to push it

@Supper Breh, we had a pretty positive thread going. I'm not sure why you made this about ADOS when we were discussing Afrobeat with respect to Dancehall and Reggae which had nothing to do with ADOS and it's relation to either. Just saying.:francis:

Reggae/dancehall has fallen off over the last few years but at its prime, Afrobeats isn't touching it, IMO

Breh, In it's prime we were able to touch so many places and they we landed in Japan on tour have never experienced anything like that in my life! Pure madness! Then we went back on our own to touch the Mighty Crowns reggae festival.

I didn't understand that reggae is massive in a number of other countries I mean massive.


That's what I mean afrobeats is having its time in the sun and more power to it but when people start taking and infusion it into its own culture is when it has really arrived!
