Has Afrobeat Overtaken Reggae/Dancehall in Global Popularity?

Let's be real dancehall died when autotune became popular and the new producers watering down the soundcfor years. But we got to remember we wouldn't have afro beats without dancehall music.
It’s Afro beats.. I was in Dakar Senegal back in June and was at an outdoor cafe called Sen’ burger and this joint was playing.. shyt was smooth

Dancehall died because it became unplayable in dance settings. Artists taking a turn to ultra violent and crass lyrics.
But the backlash preceded that starting with the banning of touring legacy acts for old gay bashing lyrics. After this there was brief era of white reggae pop covers then the "tropical house" phase. Followed by the second resurgence of reggaeton then afrobeat going mainstream.
Dancehall still has some incredible artists but they have cut off their presence in the mainstream. I feel like this is rather foul on the industry. Jamaican artists shouldn't have to constantly re-establish themselves and carve out spaces. Meanwhile reggaeton has ran off with a style n barely paid homage.
