For real, man came off a shoulder injury and put up 39 TDs, falling 2nd only to Mahomes. I recall a certain former Colts QB (I think he wears #18 idk) getting this same type of criticism only to take his game to another level. Happened around the same time as Luck's career too.
I'll be revisiting this thread in a little while.![]()
It's kinda funny cause has he lived up to the hype? Nah. His hype was basically be the best ever tho and it's hard to live up to that.
I agree with you guys who have said this, but it's not like nobody has lived up to the hype before. Peyton lived up to the hype, so did Elway, so did Dan The Man. Obviously Luck is far, far from a bad QB, bit I think minimizing it to saying "oh it's hard to live up to that hype", is giving him an easy out...

Let’s be honest... Russ inherited the Legion of BoomI should also add that there's a guy from Luck's own draft class, Russell Wilson, who has played with even less skill players on the offensive side, and behind an even worse offensive line, who has consistently and annually been better than Luck. I'm not accepting pity for Andrew Luck applications today lmao...
The guy is a really good quarterback. He hasn't met the hype surrounding his name, and he's going into Year 8. At some point it's not just everybody else anymore, and while people hate to hear this, Peyton met the hype in every way by Year 8 with the exception of making the Super Bowl---->he was 3-5 in the playoffs thru Year 7, Luck is 4-4, that's basically the same record. But besides that Peyton was everything they said he'd be and then some...
Exactly.. Lets not get into this revisionist bullshyt now. I remember quoting articles were writers were saying he was a LOCK HOF after 1 season. nikkas was talking about he was the best prospect EVER. Dudes was like "Man fukk P. Manning and his next 4 years.... We gonna get Luck"It's kinda funny cause has he lived up to the hype? Nah. His hype was basically be the best ever tho and it's hard to live up to that.
So going into the last season of the 2010s, with 7, soon to be 8 years in the books, Andrew Luck is easily not a Top 5 QB of this era. Is he even a Top 10 QB of the '10s? I can give you eight guys off top who were greater in this era:
Ben, Brady, Brees, Peyton, Rivers, Rodgers, Ryan, Wilson...
The last two spots of the Top 10 are going to be arguable for Luck for sure, but he fighting with Romo, Cousins, and Padford. So I'd say Luck is the 9th or 10th best QB of this era, which is underachieving from where they said he'd be...
I'll be right back to respond to the John Elway thing, @portcityplaya !

. Atleast they lead their teams to SB with Flacco and Foles winning one with MVP honors. Luck won't even win the division for Indy this year let alone a playoff game.Luck is
I'd put Eli before him with his two SB wins and the last spot for Cam, Foles or Flacco. Atleast they lead their teams to SB with Flacco and Foles winning one with MVP honors. Luck won't even win the division for Indy this year let alone a playoff game.
Luck individually has been great
Tom Brady the best QB ever needs a well oiled machine as a franchise to win multiple rings so idk whats being expected of Luck, the Colts live and die by that man
