I know its popular nowdays to talk about how much Cali has fallen off(even tho they putting out the best music right now) but lets be reality here fo a min doe!!!
-The word hater which is one the most used terms in our community today started in Cali. Came from player hater which eventually just became hater. People love it so much that even 50 years later they still say the shyt 20 times a day.
-Gangster rap. Yes hip hop started in NY but west coast rap and gangster rap is the biggest influence in rap today. West coast was da ones who started talking about guns and street shyt. Da ones who first started flashin hoz and cars in they videos.(There will be no video vixens if not for the west coast). West coast the first ones to bring the STREETS into hip hop, and it shows today. You see the west coast influence to this day, but you dont see nikkas out on street bloccs breakdancing on cardboard boxes
-Crips/Bloods. Don't even need to explain this one.
-They bought back snapbacks and gave the current generation their new look.
Snapbacks, tattoos, cargos, long socks thats all shyt that the west coast startd. Sure snapbacks were popular before, but its the west who bought them back. And nikkas dont even LIE and say any other region was wearing long socks before the west coast
-Good weed. Before west coast nikkas was contempt with smoking garbage ass boo boo weed. After G funk hit the scene everyone wanna smoke kush n chronic n shyt
