I don't really think anything like socialism is the answer either. There's a problem of people at the top always hording resources in both situations. It's like mankind cannot create a fair system for everybody.:wow:
This. There's always going to be people on top no matter socioeconomic system you live in. Even in the Soviet Union and communist countries you had the party leadership living better than the average citizen.

There's always going to be someone who has more than others. Just have to get in where you fit in. :francis::mjcry::manny:

Threads/arguments like this are disrespectful to our ancestors IMO. YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE. People choose the things they claim enslave them in modern American life. Outside of medical cost, all that shyt is avoidable. And even medical cost can be greatly reduced for most if you live a healthy lifestyle.

Not to say there aren’t somethings which seriously need to be addressed, but slavery is not the right term to describe the problems in the system.
Former slaves and even brothers and sisters who lived in Jim Crow in the early to mid twentieth century would kill for the things we enjoy today. Not to say it's all good but compared to what they went through, IT'S A LOT BETTER.

What’s the killer part

is how companies over a decade change from giving employees immediately 1 or 2 week vacation time , to now u have to work everyday so your vacation time can be earned

companies also switch from rounding your time up to say 4pm and pay u if u clock out at 3:57, to save them 5 cents

and these companies wondering why they can’t get people to work for them

You do understand the system encompasses all of that. It's the mind state of Western society. It's built to make women independent and break up families. Nobody says women being able to do for themselves is wrong, but the whole agenda is pushed that women don't need anybody else. This is all under the same system and helps the slavery system I referenced. More independent people means more workers.
idol worship isnt just about statues and gilded objects

what we value rules over us :mjpls:

Well, "society" means people agree to trade some of their freedom for security
Unless we just live anarchy, no one will be 100% "free"

But Lets step over that and consider we are 95% "free"
Now in this constructed world,, some people get to live the life they want
And this comes, deliberately or accidentally, at the expense of others

At times i am purely in my element - i experience full flow
I am overseeing a project with 120 people putting in cumulative ~5000 hours a week
It is fun (for me) to direct this project to success
I would do it for free :mjlol:

I am conducting an orchestra to play a symphony i made up - i see my ideas happen
And im not the only one - i am confident at least some people on this team (probably top lieutenants) feel the same way
But this feeling comes at the expense of others

Some people have very tedious roles
The workday crawls along for them
They leave work exhausted, drained
With nothing positive to show for it except some wages earned
They are selling their labor
They probably feel some resentment -
I made way too much money in 2020
And im having fun while their hopes for something better evaporate
They have to bite their tongue and pretend to be okay with it
But they are not abused per se
No one yells or beats them
Their pain happens incidentally, over time

i dont think any of that 120 plan to pull a Rambo on the rest of us
But at least statisticslly, some people on the team must feel unhappy or trapped
It's just a job to them
And they will never feel joy

Can anything be done??
I don't think so
If everyone is an astronaut,, then who is cleaning the toilets at the nasa headquarters??
If everyone is the starting quarterback,, then who is making the footballs??
Etc

That's why mindfulness and meditation are popular concepts these days
It gives people another chance to find meaning or satisfaction in situations that might be meaningless or unsatisfactory

No way you're overseeing a project with 120 people.....typing like that :mjlol:

Better question is...

What people are going to do about it?
