Has anyone ever used powerline adapters?

How's the performance and what do you use it for? I know what it is/how it works, but I want to hear some real world experience.

I'd rather try this than rewire my whole house with ethernet.

I just need something to reliably stream from my server to my media players. Now that I have ripped better quality movies, I need something that will give a strong consistent speed.

Any suggestions on good models?
