some of these current artists' music has no soul to me. they can technically sing and do runs or whatever but the music has no soul, it's not dynamic, there no life to it. nikkas be having whole albums of this docile vibe music bullshyt. In the past you didn't even have to be the best singer to have a nice career and crank out music that would end up being listenable for the entirety of the modern era. Look at someone like Mary J Blige, not the best singer but her music had life to it.

Same. I absolutely LOVED Trapsoul. That second shyt? I knew it was going to be some shyt when I saw that 1997 ass album cover. Don't know that I'll ever go back to finish it.

Caesar fukked up by having the one two punch of alienating his fan base with that YeaJulz shyt (and tripling down on it with how he carried himself after), and then following up with a mediocre album. It's like he bought too much into the praise people had for the more abstract elements of his music, and forgot that he could get away with that shyt because the rest of the music was good.

The lyrics to Japanese Denim are fukking insane when you really think about it, but the song is smooth enough that it doesn't matter. Breh needs to go back to that.

Although I will say that Cyanide off the second album is a great song.
